At all times sincere friends of freedom have been rare, and its triumphs have been due to minorities, that have prevailed by associating themselves with auxiliaries whose objects often differed from their own; and this association, which is always dangerous, has been sometimes disastrous, by giving to opponents just grounds of opposition, and by kindling dispute over the spoils in the hour of success.

I agree that Jerusalem should be an open and International city due to only One Fact which the great three monotheistic Religion and nothing to do with the Palestinian Authority. The implementation of the United Nations Resolutions is a protection to the Dome of the Rock, while Christians in Jerusalem because it is where the young Jesus impressed the sages at the Jewish Temple, where he spent the last days of his ministry, and where the Last Supper, the Crucifixion and the Resurrection took place.
One last point the Israeli – Palestinian conflict will be resolved by the Vatican —Isn’t that interesting???

My opinion, religion an institution may bring about division, and at times hatred (wars). On the other hand, true faith brings about peace or may help lead to peace. Faith in a higher being / God.

That is a great theory would apply in United States and other countries – Still Religion in Jerusalem is Powerful and will stay united and strong. That is a critical key for Religious Institution to bring peace and its influence in Middle East!
Peace in Jerusalem might be attached to faith presence in the area, and also Church is more powerful in Jerusalem, that’s one of the reason Israel has an obligation towards churches.

In the end … it all belongs to God and not us… we are only borrowing / renting (sort of speak) the lands. We need to respect all.

I am not arguing about the principles about Holy Land, faith and God. As I said Holy Land and Jerusalem is the monotheistic religious and their presence and God will lead to peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians!
Are you residing in Jordan???
